ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the VP/Director of Business Development you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, developing and executing strategic relationships in support of the business. The ideal candidate will help drive the strategy and execution of marketing partnerships including developing relationships with media outlets, television networks, consumer brands, the music industry and more. You will also play a critical role in the acquisition of new customers and members for bopaboo. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly understand and get their arms around complex business concepts, generate ideas for partnership, and build relationships based on value to both parties.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Responsible for the identification, assessment, and execution of strategic high level relationships as well as the operational implementation of business development agreements.
- Manage all inbound Business Development contacts including the prioritization of opportunities.
- Oversee market analysis and competitive activity in the licensed content industry.
- Establish relationships with market leaders that drives rapid growth and the value to our community.
- Develop the financial/operating models that will be used to evaluate deals for revenue, profitability, customer and traffic growth.
- Work with internal teams to ensure organizational understanding of Business Development strategies and partner needs.
- Responsible for high level business term and contract negotiations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- 5+ years of experience in licensing and business development with an emphasis in media, entertainment, licensing and technology. Must have identified and structured strategic partnerships resulting is significant benefit to both parties.
- In-depth knowledge of the internet industry: its market leaders, industry trends and “who’s who”, especially within the B2C segment, is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to build long term and lasting relationships with key industry players.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects while working under pressure to deliver.
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to lead through reports, presentations and forecasts.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills: must be able to present effectively at the executive level
- Sharp, articulate, high energy, team player who can think outside the box to generate ideas and solutions.
- Bachelors degree is required, a Masters degree is strongly preferred.
- Start-up experience a Huge plus
